PROSPER
Country: France
Classes: JEET KUNE DO, KALI STICK FIGHTING
Prosper looks like Chinese but with a strong French accent was born in France with Chinese origins. Has been practicing martial arts for over 18 years. From a young age started with Wado-Ryu Karate and some grappling styles like Judo Jujitsu and Shorinji Kempo. After 7 years of training he found his true calling of Jeet Kune Do. The functional martial art developed by legendary martial artist Bruce Lee integrates different forms for most practical and straight attacks. Fascinated by JKD and Kali (fighting sticks, knife and empty hands combat from the Philippines), Prosper experimented and combined different concepts of western boxing, trapping system from Wing Chun, grappling and self defense techniques. The skill he felt most comfortable is trapping, which led him to know the root of JKD - Wing Chun. Training with a master in San Francisco emphasized the hard style training related to body tension and Qigong. From another Hong Kong Wing Chun Master, he learned the softness of Wing Chun. With the two contradicting styles Prosper developed his own style and structured movements.
“It really takes time for each individual to appropriate his own concept of fighting or JKD. By experiencing diverse martial arts and specializing on some of them, I focus on the integration of straight and practical skills. There is nothing bad to leave some forms behind; it’s just an opportunity to know more about ourselves. There are really no limitations, but just a pure individual expression and evolution.”
1992-1995: Karate Wado-Ryu, inter-club and regional competitions, level brown belt.
1997-1998: Judo Jujitsu and Shorinji Kempo

JADE

Jade began her yoga journey about 8 years ago when she was a school student majoring in Preventive Medicine. One of her major studies was anatomy which she was extremely interested in. One day while performing some stretching exercises had an idea: How can I bring more beauty to the body? We should appreciate the body that we have. That's when the connection to yoga was made and soon after created her own yoga sequence of poses that focused on stretching my body.
Since moving to Shanghai in 2005, began practicing yoga almost everyday at home. The dedication, discipline and hard work have brought her spiritually closer to home. Over the past years have studied with many of Shanghai’s leading yoga talents such as Duncan Wong, Richard Baimbridge and Ben Finnerty.
With the many years of Yoga training Jade also holds the 200 hours International Registered Yoga Teacher Certification with the primary style of yoga being Anusara.
“Yoga is a way of expressing yourself; it is a way that leads you to a state of inner peace, stillness, and happiness. Yoga is not only about stretching our bodies, but a GREAT way to remember and re-awaken our true divine being. It helps us to free our mind and our bodies, to open up, so we can enjoy the beautiful things that surround us, , as we slowly start to surrender and find ourselves moving closer to the universe that governs our worlds which has created life as we know it.”
