This class will teach Capoeira Regional (a fast-paced form of Capoeira in which the players engage in a game called the jogo to demonstrate their strength, speed grace and skill) and Capoeira Angola (played slowly and deliberately, but with humor and joyfulness). This class will primarily focus on aspects important to playing the game, including dance steps and movement, escapes, attacks and some acrobatics. Capoeira music, lyrics and philosophy will also be introduced to cultivate a better understanding of the Capoeira mentality.
